The position for the first house has changed a couple of times and now there have been a couple of different versions of the driveway for the first house. In the end it was more sensible to minimise earthworks and excavation and have the driveway set East-West along the contour of the site and connecting with the existing bitumen road instead of connecting directly onto the cul-de-sac.
